Double Cross (Noughts & Crosses, #4) by Malorie Blackman
Sephy Hadley and Callum McGregor are the two main characters in the book " Noughts and Crosses". Sephy is a Cross and Callum is a Nought. Reading Callum softened how I felt after reading Noughts and Crosses. .. I loved the first book in particular especially the relationship between Sephy and. Callum is a nought; Sephy is a Cross and the daughter of an important politician. Their relationship is not tolerated, and the series follows the and Crosses, the second most commonly taken Reading Practice quiz of.

Jade Novah and Cynthia Erivo. This was an excellent graphic novel adaptation, unlike some others I've read. It's one that really makes sense to adapt to a visual format, where readers can see things like the dark brown band-aids and judges wearing African masks rather than white wigs.
One part I thought was especially well-done was the highlighting of Black people who have achieved greatness in the real world but who most people have never heard of. To quote my friend Guinevere Tomas: There were only Blacks and Whites. It makes sense for the book, but I know I don't live in such a black and white world, so I wondered why I didn't see anything else but. Unless the rest of the world didn't exist anymore, there was no reason why there weren't any Asians, Hispanics, more Mixed race people, Indigenous, Arab and Muslim, the latter.
Callum's sister Lynette is mentally ill, including her believing that she's a Cross. She commits suicide as a result of this, which is the catalyst for Callum, his brother and their father's character development. Sephy's mother is an alcohol addict and Sephy veers towards also becoming one. Racial and mentally ill representation as above.

He never quite understands how much Sephy relies on Callum to keep her sane. Callum changes Sephy's perspective on the world and other noughts. He makes her keep her mind open and brings out the best in her. Sephy does the same for Callum.
Callum doesn't have much faith in himself but Sephy always pushes him and shows him his full potential. When she was young she never fully understood how much crosses hate noughts and how disrespectful they are. This is why Callum could never really talk to her about what it was like to be a nought because as hard as he tried she wouldn't understand.
Not until she was older. I love you Callum and your baby will love you too! This quote shows just how much Sephy loves Callum. Towards the end of the they have a child together but Callum is executed before the baby is born.
How well do you know the outgoing children's laureate, Malorie Blackman?
Sephy has faith that her child will love him. Why we like and dislike Callum's character Edit Callum's character changes throughout the book. When we are first introduced to him I see him as having a lot of potential and talent but he doesn't think it is possible for him to do anything because of the racism he lives amongst.
