Ultimately I sensed very little truth in it, and found myself repelled by the pretentiousness of the author. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. This journey of Nainoa is what the bulk of the book is about Wwsselman is seen through the author’s eyes during his astral journeys via the eyes of Nainoa, who is apparently his descendant.

It’s well-written, and personable in tone. This author, trained as a scientific cultural anthropologist, entered the world of shamanic journeying, rather accidentally or not I would be less skeptical, if he told his story and didn’t throw in pitches for his workshops, etc. It is a story of altered states and different realms of reality: Their people were apparently Hawaiians in origin, but had journeyed to the American coast.
