I don’t want to say what happened and ruin the surprise so I’ll just conclude with: Neither wanted to be with the other at first, but I liked that they quickly started to see the good in one another. Will, our hero, starts out as a very arrogant and self centered noble.
Amy, the heroine, has been “out” in society for several years, but has managed to be allowed one more season. Unfortunately for all his winning, he ends up in debt for 20, pounds!
It is always nice to see a man recognize his fate. That just in case turned out to be the man rxke is now married to Mr. He loses a bit of money gambling, and instead of pleading to too brother for help, he figures marrying an heiress is his only option. He literally broke my heart and he is in definite need of a HEA. I also enjoyed Will’s growth from the bad boy into a sweet, caring husband.
But they are found locked in a wine cellar overnight and they wind up marrying anyway. Amy is the one girl who doesn’t fall for Will’s charm and Will has always liked a challenge. Family meetings, balls, and working in general is just not his thing. But it was so worth the wait. He is not such a serious character and did a terrific job of handling some tough situations. I’m not sure if it was because of the conflict between Rwvish and Will or maybe because I was expecting more banter between them.
